Curated Lena Delendik

The sun is shining strange today again”
The project  «The Sun is shining strange today again» exhibited in Warsaw in 2022,consists of paintings, grafic works, art objects, video art, texts and music that openly talk about a highly stigmatized issue in society - mental health.
The exhibition, curated by Lena Delendik consist of three parts
The first part “the bestiary of obsessive thoughts” looks in deep into OCD, talking about all of the specific obsessive thoughts that the artists lives with herself using the language of metaphors and images to best describe such indescribable maters. The works are showcased in a controlled chaos manner, from the first glance the viewer sees many different pieces exhibited at one place that might not seem connected but after a deeper review  the viewer starts to see a mathematical pattern that resembles a musical notation. The curator has used this specific way of exhibiting the works to show the inner reality of obsessive thoughts that might seem chaotic at first but all rely on specific patterns
The second part “The Sun is shining strange today again” consists of massive acrylic paintings some of witch also contain elements of embroidery. These works talk about depressive episodes and particularly about the problem of self-harm. This zone has a musical continuation in a similar named won't created by the artist. This zone is also the one that is most affected by the specific pink lighting the whole exhibition has. Under this lighting the acrylic paints have a unsettling neon glow which is made to make the viewer feel as if the reality is disorting  just like before having a self harm episode explained by the artist
The third part is titled “How do you get out of the red room?” Talks about a rare neurological disorder called Tourettes syndrome that the artist herself suffers from and it's specific backsides such as anxiety and severe depression
This zone consists of 12 graphic works hung in a specifically clear and somewhat strict way to
highlight the idea of a third party view point that is not affected by the depressive episode the lyrical hero in the paintings is.
